!  Important note: the required external socket timer is not included with the Doorkeeper. Please use one that suits your needs.

• Automatic chicken coop flap control unit with a 12V power supply for operation from a mains socket via a socket-mounted timer

• The device allows you to control your chicken flap, for example, using your own simple socket timer or a Wi-Fi socket.

• For example, you could use a simple analogue timer switch from a DIY store. These are extremely easy to set up and are perfectly adequate for most applications.

• Do you have Wi-Fi in the henhouse and a power socket? Use a Wi-Fi socket timer to integrate your hen flap into your Wi-Fi network, or into your own preferred smart home system.

• Make use of the wide range of control options offered by your own Wi-Fi sockets to control the chicken flap remotely, e.g. whilst on holiday, in much the same way as you would control a lamp via Wi-Fi. For example, use the astro function on some socket timers to control it based on twilight.

• Simply switch the power on or off remotely to control the flap manually.

• Use the setting profiles in the timer app to set different switching times for different days. 

• Closing takes place relatively slowly, whilst opening is comparatively quick. This behaviour is advantageous, as the animals want to leave the barn early in the morning.

• The maximum weight of approx. 2 to 2.5 kg on the device should not be exceeded.

• Notes:

  • Please note that the required socket and the power supply unit must be installed in a dry indoor location.

  • When using the 12V power supply, the overload cut-out activates relatively late. There is a risk of injury if any part of the body becomes trapped between the chicken flap or the object being opened and the device. Do not reach into the loop or between the loop and the device whilst opening. This is not a toy! Use in the presence of children should only take place under supervision!

Note: There is no control option on the device itself. A socket timer and, accordingly, a socket near the Doorkeeper are required. To connect to a Wi-Fi network, a suitable Wi-Fi signal is required for a Wi-Fi socket timer. Alternatively, any socket timer (230V, 50Hz) can be used. The mains adaptor must only be used indoors in a dry environment!

Alternative product: VSF, chicken coop flap controller with integrated manual timer (just as easy to set as a standard DIY shop socket timer), and power supply via solar cell/internal rechargeable batteries.

Installation:
Installation is very simple: first fit the slider, pull it into the open position, then fit the VSF/r so that you can connect it to the slider via the loop (cord rolled up = as supplied!). Then activate the rechargeable batteries - done. You can also control several sliders with a single VSF/r via UR pulleys (see installation examples), provided the maximum total weight is not exceeded.
