Who we are

AXT-electronic was the first to bring the Electronic Doorkeeper to the market. We are a family-run business based in Eisenach in Thuringia, in the heart of Germany. We have been manufacturing Electronic Doorkeepers – known as the “Electronic Doorkeeper” – for small animal housing for over 40 years. Our devices are therefore genuine “Thuringian” products.
Every device passes through our hands several times before dispatch and is thoroughly tested. Genuinely ‘Made in Germany’, then.
We place great importance on top-quality customer service. We’re happy to advise you, and should any problems arise, we’ll help you as quickly and easily as possible.

The beginnings of AXT-electronic

The history of AXT-electronic began back in 1982, at that time still in the GDR. We are the inventors of the automatic chicken flap, now sell worldwide and are the market leader in these specialised devices.
It all began with self-manufactured, hand-soldered circuit boards in small quantities for friends and acquaintances, made with great attention to detail and always built to last a lifetime, with casings that can quite literally and affectionately be described as "butter dishes", right through to large-scale production runs manufactured using modern techniques and still designed for durability.

Incidentally, appliances "in the butter dish" are still running today, and with proper care will probably outlive the next generation of grandchildren who are chasing after the chickens.

First-class customer service – our top priority

We place great importance on excellent customer service. Once you’ve purchased the device, we want you to enjoy it for many years to come and get the most out of it. If something goes wrong – and yes, that can always happen with electronic devices – we won’t leave you out in the cold.
That is why we offer robust, dedicated, and friendly customer service. Repairs are carried out quickly and, even if the warranty has expired, at a reasonable cost. You can easily install the devices yourself without any specialist knowledge. Installation is very straightforward; this was a key priority from the outset. No calibration or adjustment of the slide travel is required, and you have flexible installation options to suit your individual needs.
The range of applications can also be more varied than you might think at first glance. Do you have horses but never have time to let your four-legged friends out to pasture or feed them? Pasture gate openers are also part of our range.
