- Our devices are optimized for vertical chicken doors. Not because there would be no others. But:
- All other variants are high-maintenance intensive! Dirt collects in every form of horizontal rail and can lead to blockages. This is not the case with vertical doors. The principle has proven itself for decades.
What should you pay attention to when purchasing?
- The most important thing to buy in our shop, or one of our partners, then everything is good.
- Socket nearby, 12V battery ready for connection? Buy a plug-in power supply device.
- Mobile hen house, no plug-in power socket, flexible mounting possibilties? Buy battery devices.
- What breed of poultry do you have? Take a look at the dimensions of our sliders. The named animals in the description are for orientation only. Large chicken breed > large flap, not only for geese ;-)
- It is summer, the sun rises between 4 and 5 o'clock. The automatic chicken door too, ... is twilight controlled. The solution:
- Connect the timer! There is a clock for both both of the power supply types (plug-in, battery) ... what does it do?
- It leaves the door closed in the morning until a desired time, even if the sun has already risen. So the animals can only get out when it is safe enough. Also only when it is safe that your neighbour has slept out...
- In the evening it is closed automatically at a set time, even if it should still be a little bright. The animals are safe for now.
- You want to have it precisely? Deactivate light sensor = control only by time, no problem.
- You want to close the door manually sometimes, although it is still bright, and it is not the appropriate time? Buy a device with manual closing option (SA function). This allows you to close the door manually if necessary. It will then open again automatically the following morning. You don't have to worry about anything else. Everyone who has geese will love it.
- Mounting inside the coop? Or do you prefer it outside? That doesn't matter for now. If you want to use the twilight control AND mount the Doorkeeper inside, however, you need an outside light sensor. This brings the light from the outside to the inside of the coop.
- PS: Outdoor installation: avoid weather sides and provide for a small simple roofing. The slider could also freeze firmly. Grease the rails a little. This makes it very unlikely that the slider will block.
